Spaghetti-Crusted Turkey Pie

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 oz. uncooked spaghetti
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/3 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbls. butter or margarine
  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1 8oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano leaves
  • 4 oz. mozzarella cheese slices
 Method:

Generously butter 9x1 1/2" pie plate.  Break spaghetti into halves.  Cook in boiling water until tender.   Mix eggs, parmesan cheese and warm spaghetti.  Pour into pie plate. Pat into bottom and up sides of pie plate with back of spoon.  Spread sour cream over top.   Heat oven to 350°.  Heat butter until melted.  Crumble turkey into skillet; stir in green pepper and onion.  Cook until turkey is done, drain.   Stir in tomato sauce, garlic salt, and oregano.  Simmer 10 minutes.  Salt and pepper to taste.  Spoon turkey mixture over sour cream.  Bake 25 minutes.   Arrange mozzarella cheese on top.  Bake until cheese is melted
